10 minute cloud

10 minute cloud es otro de los grupos interesantes que me hallé en el myspace y que estarán desfilando por acá. También decidí, para transcibir en el blog, no alterar mucho lo que me dijeron sobre ellos:

Well, even though we all (the 3 of us) live in London, my brother Anderson and I come from Brazil and Greece (Brazilian mother, greek father + we lived in both countries). So, even though we're also influenced by artists such as Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, Nina Simone and the Velvet Underground, playing music with a latin root comes natural to us. To be honest, even we were surprised with our sound when we started! (*Says Gizele, snger of the band)i

Charlie's father used to be a jazz drumer and given the fact that he is 100% British, we are very much in the same frame of mind when it comes to playing music ...I believe that he takes away a little bit of the brazilian sound and makes it more interesting . Anderson is also very good at that, but as I said before, we are influenced by a mixture of artists and sounds ...

In regards to road experience, we have only been performing in the London scene so far ... we
hope that all changes soon!

The internet has been a fantastic tool to us. We've received a message from a guy that works in Antartica, saying that he was listening to our songs on his laptop ... that felt great! We are prety much doing most things alone (record company, recordings, booking gigs) without a PR company to help and we would never be able to reach out to someone in Artatica at this stage without the internet.

I said we do most things, because we also work with 3 more very talented artists - Tiago Santos (photographer), Manuela Barz (record sleeves, websites, videos, photos) and Andre de Sousa (videos, photos).

About the near future, we will start recording our new album (our second one) in December, so we are very excited about that!
